Stock Market Week Ahead: 21 Listed Companies Schedule Ex-Dividend Dates for Cash and Share Distributions

The upcoming trading week, spanning from September 28 to October 2, 2026, is set to witness a significant wave of corporate actions as 21 enterprises on the Vietnamese stock market prepare to lock in their shareholder registries for dividend distributions. This batch of corporate actions highlights a diverse mix of payout methods, encompassing substantial cash dividends as well as stock dividends aimed at capitalizing reserves and retained earnings. For investors, this period represents a crucial window for portfolio adjustments, particularly for those targeting passive income streams through high-yield dividend assets.

As the third quarter draws to a close, market participants are closely monitoring these corporate maneuvers. Dividend announcements serve not only as a barometer of corporate financial health and profitability from previous operational periods but also as a key driver of short-term stock price fluctuations around the ex-dividend and record dates.

Overview of the Upcoming Corporate Actions

During the trading week of September 28 to October 2, a total of 21 companies will trade ex-rights—the date on which purchasers of a stock are no longer entitled to a recently declared dividend—or will reach their final registration date. The line-up features a broad spectrum of industries, ranging from industrial zone development and maritime shipping to electrical engineering and consumer goods.

While the majority of participating firms have opted for standard cash payouts, offering immediate liquidity to shareholders, others are utilizing stock dividends to reinvest earnings back into core business expansions. Dividend yields across the board vary significantly, stretching from modest returns of 2% to exceptionally high distributions of up to 50%. This disparity underscores the varied capital strategies adopted by Vietnamese enterprises in response to current macroeconomic conditions, credit availability, and internal growth requirements.

Spotlight on Major Cash Dividend Payers

Among the firms distributing dividends entirely in cash, Industrial Urban Development Joint Stock Company No. 2 (Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange: D2D) stands out as the most generous issuer of the week. D2D has announced a final cash dividend payout of 50% for the 2025 financial year, translating to 5,000 VND per share.

With approximately 30 million shares currently in circulation, the company is slated to disburse roughly 152 billion VND to its shareholder base. The timeline for this corporate action establishes September 30 as the final registration date, preceded by the ex-dividend date on September 28. Payment to shareholders is scheduled to be executed on October 14.

This substantial payout carries significant weight for D2D’s major institutional stakeholders. Sonadezi Corporation (Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange: SNZ), which functions as the parent company and holds a controlling stake of nearly 57.9% in D2D’s charter capital, is projected to pocket approximately 88 billion VND from this single dividend event. Financial analysts note that such cash injections from core subsidiaries bolster the parent company’s consolidated cash flow, providing Sonadezi with ample liquidity for its broader industrial real estate development pipeline.

Parallel to D2D, Vietnam Maritime Corporation’s affiliate, Vietnam Ocean Shipping Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange: VOS), commonly known as Vosco, has released its blueprint for a cash dividend distribution. Vosco will pay a dividend of 9% in cash, equivalent to 900 VND per share.

With 140 million shares outstanding, the shipping enterprise plans to allocate roughly 126 billion VND to fulfill this obligation. The registration date for Vosco’s dividend is set for October 2, meaning the ex-dividend date falls on October 1. Shareholders can expect the funds to hit their accounts around October 26.

According to Vosco’s corporate governance report for the first half of 2026, Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC – Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange: MVN), the parent entity holding a 51% controlling stake, is expected to receive over 64 billion VND. This inflow reinforces VIMC’s financial standing amidst fluctuating global freight rates and capital expenditure requirements across its maritime logistics network.

Stock Dividend Issuances and Capital Reinvestment

While cash dividends appeal directly to income-focused investors, stock dividends serve a different strategic purpose by preserving corporate liquidity while expanding equity capital. In this category, Global Electrical Technology Joint Stock Company (Stock Code: GLT) has emerged as a key issuer for the upcoming week.

GLT officially designated October 1 as the final registration date for shareholders to receive a stock dividend, with the ex-dividend date scheduled for September 30. Under the approved issuance plan, the company will execute a dividend payout ratio of 25.5%. Consequently, shareholders owning 100 shares will receive 25.5 new shares.

The capital source for this share issuance is drawn directly from undistributed post-tax profits, as verified by GLT’s audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. By converting retained earnings into share capital, GLT aims to enhance its equity base, improve share liquidity on the market, and retain internal capital to fund ongoing technological upgrades and operational expansions.

Broader Market Impact and Diverse Yield Ranging

Beyond these prominent names, the market will process numerous other dividend distributions ranging from 2% to 16%. These upcoming distributions encompass a mix of cash, stock, or hybrid packages combining both forms of payment.

Market analysts observe that a heavy concentration of dividend ex-dates typically attracts tactical short-term trading. Investors often accumulate shares ahead of the ex-dividend date to capture the entitlement rights, followed by post-ex adjustments where stock prices theoretically drop by an amount equivalent to the cash dividend value. However, fundamentally strong companies with consistent high-yield records often experience rapid price recoveries, driven by sustained institutional and retail demand.

Furthermore, these scheduled payouts reflect an underlying resilience across select sectors of the Vietnamese economy, particularly within logistics, industrial infrastructure, and specialized manufacturing. Despite broader macroeconomic headwinds and cautious credit growth earlier in the year, well-managed enterprises continue to honor shareholder return commitments.

As the market navigates the final days of September and transitions into October 2026, investors holding positions in the 21 scheduled companies are advised to verify their account statuses and monitor clearing timelines carefully. Ensuring proper settlement before the respective ex-dividend dates remains essential for securing rightful claims to these cash allocations and share allotments.
